François-Olivier is the memory of the MMBC as he started in 2017, in the early years of the organization. He participated in the building of the MMBC and in all its important milestones. Before this, he spent four years in Montreal as a communication consultant and ten years managing the Baie-des-Chaleurs active et en santé local non-profit organization. Hired as a Communication and Public Relation Officer for the MMBC, he soon started working on project development. In 2020, he took the position of Executive Advisor. His expertise in communications allows him to act as a key contact with Francophone and Anglophone business communities of the region, and within the municipal world. He works with partners, conducts economic prospecting, seeks funding, and works with the CEO on financial forecasts and strategic planning. Wherever he goes, François-Olivier carries the mission of the MMBC: that the supported ventures must favor the economic development of the three Mi’gmaq communities, the use of the territory and the creation of opportunities for its people.
Born in New Richmond, François-Olivier was always close to the Mi’gmaq community as he spent most of his summers with friends in Gesgapegiag. His attachment to the Mi’gmaq culture is real and sincere and he likes working for the first nations.
